Modern look and performance

The 9 story hotel will occupy a prominent location in historic downtown Providence opposite the Rhode Island Convention Center. Residence Inn by Marriott is a highly successful hotel brand with over 700 worldwide locations.

234 SlenderWall panels totally 52,000 square feet were manufactured. Thin-brick facing cast into 80% of the panels and closed-cell foam applied in-plant to meet current IECC thermal requirements.

The windows were pre-installed in the factory allowing for faster erection and enclosure, better quality control, and fewer on-site trades.

Vision 3 designed the hotel’s exterior to aesthetically fit the fabric of the surrounding area. The versatility of the 2” precast concrete skin on SlenderWall panels allowed the architects to easily mimic the brick and stone finishes of the neighboring buildings at lower costs than hand laid masonry. SlenderWall’s relative lighter weight and larger composite panels (integrated interior steel stud frames) create savings in both erection schedules and structural needs.

“We are extremely proud of the successful collaboration of our construction and development teams, with all the City and State officials who worked to advance this showcase project,” stated James A. Procaccianti, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Procaccianti Companies.
